

Dr. Carolyn Ford Epps entered into eternal rest with her loving family by her on Sunday, March 6, 2011 at her residence. She was the beloved wife of the late Robert Epps, Sr. and the devoted mother of Robert Epps, Jr. She was the daughter of Thelma Grice Ford and the late Rev. Frank Ford, Jr. as well as the sister of Mary Frances Deas (Lucian) from Kansas, Thomas Ford (Kathy) from Maryland, Betty Williams (Yeoman) from Tennessee, Linda Smith (Henry) from South Carolina, Vernetta Dekine (Tom) from South Carolina, Robert Ford from South Carolina, and Lorena Ford from Tennessee. She is also survived by numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of Believer’s Life Family Church where she participated in the music team and led a cell group. With her passion and love for the Lord, she authored several worship songs that have been copyrighted. She was a big part of leading many people with their walk with Christ. She was Valedictorian in 1976 from Choppee High School and later graduated from South Carolina State College with a degree in Chemistry which led to her Pharmacy Degree from Xavier University. She later returned to Xavier to complete her Pharmaceutical’s Doctorate Degree. She then began work at various pharmacies throughout the city where she always helped those in need and went above and beyond the call of duty.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at Believer’s Life Family Church, 501 Lapalco Blvd, Gretna, LA on Wednesday, March 9, 2011. Visitation will begin at 1:00 PM and will last until 2:00 PM at which time a Celebration of Life Service will begin. On Saturday, March 12, 2011 her homegoing service will be held St. Paul AME Church in Plantersville Community at 2:00 PM.
