

Charles “Pete” Alvin Lewis Jr. passed away peacefully while surrounded by his family on January 12, 2018 at the age of 64. Pete was born October 14, 1953 in Richmond, Virginia to the late Charles Alvin Lewis Sr. and Shirley Hundley Lewis and was raised in Greenville, South Carolina. A resident of Westwego, Louisiana for over thirty eight years, Pete admirably served in the US Army for three years and was a former employee of Boomtown Casino as well as Hussmann Corporation. Mr. Lewis was also a talented musician in the New Orleans area, who played bass in bands such as “High Risk”, "Fortune Teller" and “Dual Exhaust”. Survived by his loving wife Kimberly S. Lewis, children, Sunshine Unterwagner (Darrick), Ashley Lewis (Jason), Ian Lewis (Rachel), and Niall Lewis; and brothers, Kenneth B. Lewis, Jerry A. Lewis (Joyce), and Michael H. Lewis (Mary). Preceded in death by one brother, the late Wendell B. Lewis. Lovingly known as “PawPaw Silly” to fourteen grandchildren, Charles was also an Uncle to numerous nieces and nephews that are left behind to cherish his memory. Friends are encouraged to attend a graveside service on March 9, 2018 beginning at 1:30pm at Southeast Louisiana Veterans Cemetery, 34888 Grantham College Drive in Slidell, Louisiana.
