

Donald Paul Barrilleaux Sr., aged 73, a native of Thibodaux and a long-time resident of Marrero passed away unexpectedly on Saturday February 24, 2018. Married to the love of his life, Gail Banquer Barrilleaux for 36 wonderful years.
Donald loved spending time with his family, gardening and helping others. He loved growing roses for his wife. Since retirement he has been active in traveling with his best friend; wife Gail to visit their family and still found time to take several cruises. He could often be seen in the neighbor riding his bike or walking his canine companion, Lady. He loved helping others and would often shop for several neighbors and transported them to doctor appointments. He volunteered to help neighbors with chores and repairs. He enjoyed actively playing games with the great grandchildren. He is loved and has touched the hearts of many. He will be sadly missed by hundreds of people that love him.
He is preceded in death by his mother, Edna Barrilleaux; father, Narcisse Barrilleaux; brothers, Edward Barrilleaux and Donald Barrilleaux; sister, Audrey Blanda; and daughter, Rev. Belinda Pellegrin.
He is survived by children: Donald Paul Barrilleaux Jr. (Tabatha), Tammy Shroyer, Denise Holland and Cynthia Owens (Chris); brothers, Ronald Barrilleaux (Sheree), Ernest Barrilleaux (Kathleen),Gary Barrilleaux (Kay);and sisters, Helen Babin and Beverly Bourg; brother-in-law, Irby Banquer (Diane).
He is also survived by 10 grandchildren: Donald Barrilleaux III, Ashley Barrilleaux, Edward Barrilleaux, Angel Barrilleaux, Blake Barrilleaux, Porter Lilliman, Audrey Lilliman, Steve Pellegrin, Christopher Owens, and Dr. Jennifer Owens; 17 great grandchildren; canine companion, Lady; and a host of nieces, nephews and good friends.
The family invites you to attend the wake on Thursday, March 1, 2018 from 6:00 pm to 9:00 pm at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Services are at 11:00 am in Westside’s chapel on Friday, March 2, 2018 with a viewing from 9:00 am till 11:00 am. Burial at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna immediately following Mass.
