Dorothy Mae Santini

Dorothy Mae Gisclair Santini gained her wings on Wednesday, June 4, 2025 at home surrounded by her loving family. She was born on October 17, 1937 in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Sidney W. Gisclair and Edith D. Gisclair. Devoted wife of 66 years to the late Lindberg Walter Santini, Sr. Loving mother of Lindberg Santini, Jr. (Pansy), Linda Brockhoeft (the late Sheddy), Beverly Verdin (Gordon, Sr.) and Lisa Blank (the late Gerald, Jr.). Proud grandmother of Lindberg R. Santini, Gordon Verdin, Jr. (Shalon), Brad Verdin, Sr. (Candice), Derrick Santini, Sr. (Jennifer), David Santini (Brittney), Tiffany Venezia (Tony), Jessica Santini (Lou), Angela Blank and Katelynn Blank. Great-grandmother of Logan, Adam, Brad, Jr., Derrick, Jr., Lexie, Kayley, Makayla, Issac, Emma, Taylor, Lou and Ace. Great-great-grandmother of Daxton and Nilah. Sister of Walter Gisclair (Ophelia), Geraldine Comardelle (the late Wilbert), Janet Boudreaux (Eassie), Judy Prewitt, Cynthia Trinks (Roy) and the late Stella G. Prejeant (the late Colbert), Earl J. Gisclair (Pam) and Carolyn Este (the late Alvin). Dorothy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and dear friends.

Dorothy was a lifelong resident of Lafitte, Louisiana. She loved working alongside her beloved husband and raising her children. She enjoyed working in her garden and her favorite time of year was Christmas where she could spoil all of the grandchildren. Most of all, Dorothy loved to spend time with her family and friends. She was greatly loved and will be sadly missed.

Family and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Dorothy on Thursday, June 19, 2025 from 9:30 AM until 1:00 PM at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero. Funeral Service will begin at 1:00 PM and interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna.
