

FLOYD JAMES MARTINEZ passed away on Friday, November 16, 2012 at the age of 45. Floyd was a man with a big heart who would do anything he could to help others. He was the much beloved son of the late Mary Margaret Loyola Martinez and F. Baldamar Martinez, Sr. Mourning his death are his siblings, Robert Martinez (Norbedine), Frederick Martinez, Jr. (Cristi), G. Lucy M. Stevenson (Derek), Martin Martinez (Judy) and Dolores M. Modenbach (John) and his sister-in-law Frances B. “Franny” Martinez. Adored grandson of the late Guadalupe Lucy Hidalgo Loyola Foster, Florencio F. Loyola, Sr., Emilio Martinez and Paula M. Martinez. Nephew of F. Floyd Loyola, Jr., Augustine L. Pace, Sister Lucille Martinez, OSF, Juanita M. “Jane” Cozier, Nash “Johnny” Martinez, Frances M. Perschel, and the late Joseph David Loyola, Renaldo Martinez, Antonia M. “Toni” Stevens, Frank Martinez, Mary Martinez, and Joseph Martinez. Godfather of Thomas Stevenson and Seth DeSalvo. Floyd will also be missed by his many surviving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Graduate of John Ehret High School Class of 1986. Floyd was a proud 3rd Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council 1905 of Gretna and a member of the Fleet Reserve Association Branch 162 Auxiliary. He was a true lover of Mardi Gras and an active member of the Krewe of Grela. He was a former member of the Krewe of Choctaw and the Krewe of Nefertari. He had the ride of his lifetime when he was honored to reign as Pharaoh of Nefertari in 1994. Family and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass in the chapel at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November 24, 2012. The visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Michael’s Special School, 1522 Chippewa Street, New Orleans, LA 70130 in Floyd’s memory.
