Gene “Slick” Duplessis, age 52, was born November 1, 1958 and departed this life on Sunday, January 23, 2011. He was a lifelong resident of Buras, LA. He is survived by his beloved wife of 29 years, Tammy Duplessis and he was the loving father of of Lil Slick, Eric (Julie), Natalie and Rockey (Regina). He was the son of William Duplessis and the late Delores Duplessis as well as the brother of Eva, Martina, William and Joey Duplessis. He is also survived by his mother-in-law Theresa Barthelemy and extended family. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA. Visitation will be held on Friday, January, 28, 2011 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the family to help with the funeral expenses.
