Mrs. Geraldine Joan Simon Caire

Mrs. Geraldine “Gerry” Joan Simon Caire, age 84, passed away at her residence in Luling, Louisiana, on November 13, 2014, surrounded by her loving family. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, November 17, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. in Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling. Services will be officiated by Rev. John Finn.

Married 54 years to the late Henry Francis Anthony Caire; mother of Thomas Francis Caire (Fay), Joan Caire Brown Bouvier, the late Daniel Henry Caire, and Donna Caire Matheny (Dennis); daughter of the late Edmond Pierre Simon and the former Helena Marie Waguespack; grandmother of Rebecca Caire, the late Daniel Thomas Caire, Matthew Caire (Hollin), Jason Brown, and Jordan Brown; great-grandmother of Jilian Brown; and sister of Buel Simon (Hilda) and the late Vivian Granier (Clifton), Roy Simon (Ethel), Enid Waguespack (Nelson), Edmond Simon, Jr. , and Helena Reustle (Bud).

A native of Vacherie, Louisiana, Mrs. Caire was a longtime resident of Luling. She had attended school at St. James and Soulie Business School. Mrs. Caire retired from St. Charles Medical Clinic and was a parishioner of Holy Family Catholic Church.

The family would like to offer special thanks to caregivers Christine DeJean, Beryl Trepina, Kat Howell, and Leah Guidry; Interim Hospice; Interim Home Health; St. Charles Hospital; St. Charles Medical Clinic; and Drs. Raj and Jay and their staff; as well as the many family and friends who assisted our mother during this past year.

Visitation will be held Monday, November 17, 2014, at Holy Family Catholic Church in Luling, Louisiana, from 9:00 a.m. until time of Service at 11:00 a.m. Interment will follow in St. Charles Cemetery, 1279 Paul Mallard Road, Luling, La.
