Herbert "Pa" William Knuppel

Herbert “Pa” William Knuppel entered into heaven on Saturday, April 16, 2016 surrounded by his loving family. A devoted husband of the late Anestize Adam Knuppel of 55 years. A loving father of Kim Marie Knuppel Wintz (David, Sr.) and step-father of the late Betty Ann Elliot Boutte and Patsy Marion Elliott Cheramie (the late Wayne, Sr.) and son-in-law Ruphus Boutte.

A proud grandfather of David Allen Wintz, Jr., Shana Marie Wintz Boudreaux (Andrew), Katie Marie Wintz and step grandfather of Robert Cheramie, Sr., (Gail), Wayne Cheramie, Jr. (Nettie), Joy Boutte Coulon (Dennis), Darlene Boutte Biondolillo (Louis) Daniel Boutte, Sr. (Sandra). Son of the late Florence Alexie Knuppel and Hans August Knuppel and brother of Hans Joseph Knuppel(the late Alice) and preceded in death by his sister and brothers; Betty Knuppel Ortego(Delin), George Knuppel(Delores) and Donald Knuppel (Shirley). He is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, great step-grandchildren, other relatives and friends.

Age 89, a native of Myrtle Grove, Louisiana and a lifelong resident of Lafitte, Louisiana.

“Pa” served his country in the United States Navy in the late 1940’s and was a Roughneck for Gracie Hellums and APMC for many years, a commercial fisherman and the last 10 years served as the inspector at the City of Lafitte Sanitation Department where he would meet and talk with all his friends. The family would like to extend their thanks to the staff of Eagan Home Health Care and Kori with Hospice Compassus for their compassionate care of “Pa”.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at on Tuesday, April 19, 2016 at St. Pius in Crownpoint, Louisiana at 12:00 noon. Visitation from 9:00 am until Mass time. Interment following in St. Pius Mausoleum, Crownpoint, Louisiana.
