Jamie Jose Fletes passed away at the age of 60. He was the beloved husband of Karla Espinoza Fletes for 33 years. Father of Jamie Payne, Karla V. Fletes, and Alberto Alguera. Grandfather of Isabella Payne, Lilyanna Payne, Elijah Payne, Leah Alguera, and Victoria Alguera. Son of Luisa Fletes and the late Alejandro Fletes. Brother of Maria Marroquin, Violeta Sanchez, Alejandro Fletes, Ruth Fletes, and Ricardo Fletes. He is also survived by a host of aunts, uncles, other relatives, and friends.
He was a native of Managua, Nicaragua, and immigrated to the United States in 1972 at 11 years old. He was a resident of Marrero for the last 27 years. He was employed by Domino Sugar, and was a graduate of Warren Easton High School. He enjoyed his free time cooking in the back yard with his family. He was a wonderful husband and father, and a loving man.
A Funeral Mass will be celebrated in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Monday, April 5, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will follow at Westlawn Cemetery in Gretna. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
