

James “Crow” Joseph Tassin, Sr. entered into eternal rest on April 4, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Eloise Pertuit Tassin, his sons James Joseph Tassin, Jr. (Theresa) and Chris Anthony Tassin and his daughter Debbie Tassin Autin (Bobby). A proud grandfather of Tanya Tassin Perez, Denny Tassin and Carla DeNicola and his great grandchildren, Shantell Perez, Jamie Lynn Perez, Emily Vicknair and the late Raquel Perez. Son of the late Emma Marie Tassin and Albert Luke Tassin. Brother of Mavis Tassin and preceded in death by his brother Daniel Tassin. “Crow” is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Age 89, a native of Westwego, LA and a lifelong resident of Westwego. “Crow” was a World War II United States Navy veteran, a member of the VFW Post #6793, American Legion of Westwego and he retired from Avondale Shipyard after 30 years. He was a big LSU fan, an avid fisherman, a skilled carpenter, never missed an opportunity to dance and play music, he enjoyed entertaining his family and friends and loved his parrot “Chip”. The family would like to extend their appreciation to the staff of Heart of Hospice for their compassionate care of “Crow”.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA on Thursday, April 10, 2014 at 1:00 pm. Visitation from 10:00 am to funeral time. Internment in Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum, Westwego, LA.
