Bishop James Gordon Jr was born to the late James Gordon, Sr, and Cora Lee Stockman Gordon December 12, 1963. He transitioned to his heavenly home on May 20, 2025, at the age of 61, after 32 years of service in the Kingdom of the LORD!
He accepted Jesus Christ as LORD and SAVIOR at the Strong Faith Church in 1992, and under the leadership of Elders Larry and Helen Elder, he was licensed to preach the Gospel.
In 1999, Pastor Gordon continued his Kingdom service at White Dove Fellowship and was licensed to serve at that ministry under the leadership of Pastor Michael Mille. In 2006, White Dove released him to serve through the Great Commission Fellowship.

Armed with many Kingdom gifts, and his personal experiences of triumph through Christ, Pastor Gordon was firmly committed to creating victorious disciples of Jesus Christ at Mending Broken Hearts Church. Each congregant today stands fit for spiritual service and thrives both mentally and physically because of his great heart as God’s Under-Shephard.

Bishop James Gordon was faithful in the church and beyond its walls. He valued every duty, whether it be usher, custodian, security, Sunday School superintendent or teacher, Bible College instructor, Dean or Pastor, Bishop Gordon was always in place!
His commitment to evangelizing souls was unmatched and evident through the many outdoor tent meetings, community-based evangelical rallies, mission outreaches to the unhoused and the evangelism classes he helped to create in 2022 at Second African Baptist Church in Edgard, Louisiana.
He married his wife of 35 years, Antoinette Williams Gordon and together they touched lives for God and trained up five children and 15 beautiful grandchildren. He was spiritual father and devoted friend to many!
He was a native of Edgard Louisiana and graduated in 1981 from West St. John High School in Edgard. He attended River Parish Vocational Technical School studying A/C and Refrigeration and attended Southern & ITT Universities.
He went on to serve as Foreman at both Avondale and Northern Grumman shipyards being a source of encouragement and mentorship for all who crossed his path.
