Joey Paul Urso

Joey Paul Urso, a lifelong resident of Harvey, passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012, at the age of 57. Joey is survived by his loving daughter Shelly Urso Hayden, his son-in-law Nick Hayden and his granddaughter Gabrielle Hayden. He was the former husband of Fran D’Angelo and is also survived by his step-sons Jimmy, Mark and Steven D’anna. He was the son of the late Louis “Butsy” Urso and Catherine Cancienne Urso and he was the brother of Louis Urso (Eileen), Cathy U. Bankston (Ron), Bonnie U. Reiser (Freddie), Gerry and Freddy Urso (Kerry), many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

Joey graduated from West Jefferson High School and served in the United States Marine Corp. He was retired from Halliburton Services with over 25 years of service. He loved his family and his beloved dog Pookie. He enjoyed golfing, riding and training horses. His loss to us is immeasurable and is only diminished by our faith in his new residence alongside his parents in Heaven, but his memory will live on in our hearts forever.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Services at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 7, 2012 from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel.
