Larry Neil Buras

Larry Neil "Daddy Dog" Buras, Sr., at the age of 86 years old, departed his life on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at Ochsner Medical Center. He was a lifelong native of Plaquemines Parish Louisiana. The beloved husband and best friend of Carolyn Adolph Bergeron. Devoted father of Larry Neil Buras, Jr. (deceased), Sharm El' Buras Gisclair (Jonathan), and Elizabeth Anne Buras Salamone (Eric). Grandfather of Arianne Elizabeth Gainey Jackson (Corey), Gabriel Jonathan Buras, Cherie Elizabeth Alwell, Ella Mason Gisclair, Lilly Gisclair, and Isabelle Gisclair. Great Grandfather of Clara Anne Jackson and Callianne Jackson.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents Angus Joseph Buras and Elizabeth Antha Howze Buras, and his brothers Angus Joseph Buras, Jr. (Martha), Cecil Allen Buras (Vivian), and Paul Turner Buras, Sr. (Salva).

He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, family and devoted friends.

Larry was in business for 50 years as the owner of Delta Ice, Air and Heat. He invented the Sno Block Ice Machine for New Orleans style Snowballs. He loved fishing, dancing, and going to Cozumel with a host of friends and family. He was a lifelong Saints fan. In his later years, he enjoyed visiting the Gulf Coast, going to the Island View Casino.

A Funeral Service will be held at 8:00PM on Friday, June 20th, 2025 at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 6:00PM and continue until 10:00PM after the service time.
