Lawrence Paul Verdin Sr.

He was the beloved husband of the late Mary Buras Verdin for 21 years; father of Milton Verdin (Angel Belsome), Misty Verdin Turner (Richard Warren), and the late Lawrence Paul "Buddy" Verdin Jr. (Wendy T. Verdin); grandfather of Brittany Verdin, Beau Verdin, Wes Turner Jr, Seth Turner, and Hunter Belsome; great grandfather of Annabelle Howard; son of the late Betty Mae Pizzalato Verdin and Melvin Verdin; Brother of Wendy Verdin Doucet and the late Joey Verdin. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Buddy was a tugboat captain. He worked on the water since he was 16, when he started running crew boats. He never worked a job on dry land. He was an avid hunter, fisherman, and outdoors man. He will also be remembered for his cooking, particularly his Gumbo, and his amazing story telling. He was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. He loved his family and he loved the Lord.

A Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM.
