Leward Joseph Bergeron

He was the beloved husband of the late Estella "Stella" Bergeron for over 30 years; son of the late Edward and Irene Bergeron; brother of Willis Bergeron (Cindy), Ulysse Bergeron (Connie), Ronald Bergeron (Michelle), Donald Bergeron (Patricia), Valerie Little (Donald), Juanita Graves, June Molaison, Annette Barrios, and the late Darryl Bergeron (Roslyn). He is also survived by a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

He worked on Tug Boats most of his life, starting out as a deck hand, and worked his way up to captain, but will be most fondly remembered for his time as a cook, because food was amazing. He loved working his last job which was as a service technician at MacLeans AC and Heating, working closely with Greg MacLean. He has been a resident of Marrero Health Care for the last 15 years. In his younger days, he loved hanging out with his wife Stella, whether they were working in the yard, cooking, or anything else as long as they were together.

A funeral service will be held at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Tuesday, September 10, 2024 at 1:00 PM. Visitation will begin at 10:00 AM. Interment will follow in Westlawn Cemetery. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
