Loretta Benoit Juneau Landry

Loretta Benoit Juneau Landry, 86, passed into eternal life on December 12, 2025. Born October 9 1939, Loretta was the daughter of the late Ernest and Edwina Benoit. She was a loving and devoted wife of the late Horace Juneau and later to the late Gilbert Landry.

The beloved mother of Jeffrey Juneau (Donna) and Michael Juneau, Loretta was a force of nature. She loved being with her large and boisterous family. As the family matriarch, Loretta was never away from the kitchen. Her love language was to feed you, whether you said you were hungry or not. A devout Catholic, Loretta loved attending Mass when she could and watched every Sunday when she couldn’t. Her greatest gift was her unconditional love for her family, her selflessness shining through each day. The world was brighter for her being in it, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Loretta is survived by her sister Peggy Benoit Fabre (Ernie) and the late Robert Benoit. In speaking of her family, she was proud to boast of her grandchildren Brad (Kristina) Juneau, Darrick (Dennis Zaffuto) Juneau, Erin (Remy) Ronquille, Michael (Liz Polonski) Juneau, and Kasey Juneau. In addition, she was the joyful great-grandmother to Abigail, Kimi, Gabby, Noland, Elly, Connor, Remi and Takoda.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11:00AM on Tuesday, December 23, 2025 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 9:00AM and continue until the Mass time. Following the Mass, Loretta will be laid to rest at Our Lady of Prompt Succor Mausoleum in Westwego, Louisiana.
