Lorraine Catherine DePhillips Ballew passed away on Friday morning, January 29, 2021. She was 89 years old. Beloved wife of the late Harvey Ballew. Loving mother of Karen Ballew Landry (Ricky), Steven Ballew (Pamela), Denise Long (Brian), and Keith Ballew. Grandmother of Jason Dufrene, Alyssa Kieff, Heather Landry, Brett Ballew, Jeremy Ballew, Joshua Long, and Megan Long. Also survived by eleven loving great-grandchildren. Daughter of the late Louise and Mathias DePhillips. Sister of the late Dorothy, Leslie, Malcolm, Marion, and Clyde. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. Lorraine was a lifelong resident of the Westbank. She was instrumental in founding the Westwego chapter of ARC. She devoted her life to caring and loving for her family, especially her youngest son Keith. The family would like to extend their most sincere gratitude to the caring nurses and staff of Tranquil Living Residence Home, Passages Hospice, and her longtime caretakers Bernadette Green and Alfrieda Pierce. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial at WESTSIDE LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Tuesday morning, February 2, 2021 at 11:00.
