Lovinia "Lou" Rita Rodriguez Punch

Lovinia "Lou" Rita Rodriguez Punch passed away Monday, January 24th, at the age of 87. A native of Westwego, LA for 18 years and a resident of Marrero, LA for the past 69 years. Survivors include two sons, Wilson A. Punch, Jr. and wife Marion, Brian Punch and wife Connie, two daughters Joycie Punch Cardinale, husband Michael and Jessica Punch Jasper; one brother Joseph Rodriguez; 12 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. She is also survived by numerous loving nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Preceded in death by her husband, Wilson A. Punch, Sr. one son, Kerry James Punch, one granddaughter, Bonnie Jean Punch, her parents, Sidney Rodriguez and Olivia Tassin Rodriguez and two brothers, Albert Rodriguez and Henry Rodriguez as well as one sister Elodie Mollere Woods.

She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother and grandmother. A retired floral designer, she also loved to play bingo and was an avid bowler. Lovinia enjoyed telling jokes and family stories. She had the best darn gumbo and was considered to be the best Cajun cook in the area, she will be greatly missed by all her family and friends.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Services at WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA. Visitation will be held on Saturday, January 29, 2011 from 9:00 AM until 1:00 PM at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be held in the Chapel.
