Lucille Mendez DeJesus, lifelong resident of New Orleans, LA passed away on Friday, September 2, 2011 at the age of 91. Lucille was born on May 1, 1920 to Mr. and Mrs. Lorns Mendez. She was the beloved wife of Leopoldo DeJesus, sister of the late Mary Mendez Lachica and brother of the late Manuel Mendez. The beloved mother of Antonia DeJesus Berger, husband Richard, Pastor Leo DeJesus, wife Sandee, and the late Edward DeJesus, wife Vera. Beloved grandmother of Richard Berger, Christy Autin Heitmeier, Eddie DeJesus, Leopoldo DeJesus and Liette DeJesus Bruney, and many nieces ,nephews and great grandchildren including Dax, Logan, Abby, Leo, Meghann, John Wesley, Aaron, Isabella, Lorenzzo, Lucca, Aidan and great great grandchild Timothy, all whom she loved and cherished dearly. The family would like to extend its gratitude to the staff of West Jefferson Hospital and Heart of Hospice Care.
A Funeral Service will be held in the chapel of Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway, on Thursday, September 8, 2011 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will begin at 9:00 AM. Interment will be in Westlawn Mausoleum. Express condolences at www.westsideleitzeagan.com.
