Mildred M. Dufrene

Mildred was born October 31, 1932, in New Orleans, LA. She passed from this life August 8, 2011 at 1:05 AM. She is one of 6 children of the late Gillis and Eva Barrios. They are the late Loretta Knight and Merlyn Rush. She is survived by 2 sisters, Jeanette Bourgeois, Jackie Duhe (Richard) and 1 brother, Terry Barrios (Barbara). She was the wife of the late Wilbert Dufrene and they were married on February 3, 1949. Before his death in 1999, they were married for 50 years. They had 6 children together. They are Deborah Sanchez (Jessie), the late Diana Bynum (Elward), Dorleen Eiremann (Phillip), Cindy Barthe, Agnes Hensley (John), and Troy Dufrene (Tamie). She was also preceded in death by her grandson, John “Boy” Morgan. She was survived by 15 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. She was a very active member in her faith of Jehovah’s Witness in the Westwego Congregation. She was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be missed by all!

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral services from WESTSIDE/LEITZ-EAGAN FUNERAL HOME, 5101 WESTBANK EXPRESSWAY, MARRERO, LA. Visitation will be held on Thursday, August 11, 2011 beginning at 5:00 PM and lasting until 10:00 PM and again on Friday, August 12, 2011 beginning at 8:00 AM and lasting until 11:00 AM at which time a Service will be held in the Parlor.
