Mona Ann Benson passed away peacefully in her home surrounded by her loving family. She was 56 years old. Beloved wife of Bruce Benson of 14 years. Loving mother of Harry Rodrigue and Ashley Stevens (John-Paul), her doggie Gizmo, granddoggies Lucky and Bella, and grandcats Tiger and Shadow. Sister of the late Harold and Larry Constantino. Daughter of the late Harry and Ollie Constantino. Also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Mona was a native of Donaldsonville and resident of the Westbank since 1970. She was a 1975 graduate of L.W. Higgins and later Nicholls State University. She has been a dedicated and compassionate nurse for over thirty years. Mona loved her pets dearly, enjoyed cooking for and feeding her family, and was proud of her Italian and Cajun heritage. Relatives and Friends of the family are invited to attend the Mass of Christian Burial from Westside LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, on Saturday Morning, May 10, 2014 at 11:00. Visitation will begin at 9:00. Interment will follow in Westlawn Memorial Park Gretna. In lieu of donations Plaquemines Animal Welfare Shelter (PAWS) are preferred.
