Nicholas Joseph Melanson entered into heaven on Sunday, April 19, 2015. Loving son of Gaynell Rojas Melanson and Ozimea “Joe” Joseph Melanson. Brother of Courtney M. Matherne and uncle of Addisyn M. Matherne. Grandson of Anita Parria Rojas and the late Emile Rojas, Jr. and Jenette Adams Brunette and the late Ozimea Melanson, Jr. and Allan Brunette. Godson of Justine Tina Wade and Donnie Melanson. He is the Godfather of Chaz M. Pizani, Jr. He is also survived by numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives and friends.
Age 29, a native of Gretna, LA and a lifelong resident of Barataria, LA. “Nick” was a commercial fisherman who enjoyed being on the water, hunting, spending time with family and friends.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at St. Anthony Catholic Church in Lafitte on Thursday, April 23, 2015 at 11:00 am. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 22, 2015 at Westside Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expy. Marrero, LA from 6:00 pm until 10:00 pm and at St. Anthony Catholic Church on Thursday from 9:00 am until Mass time. Interment following in Adam’s Cemetery in Barataria.
