God’s will on earth with Patricia “Tricia” Ann Waterhouse-Gardner was completed on Friday, May 2, 2025. Patricia was born January 8, 1952 to Edward Louis Waterhouse, Sr, and Annie Mae Penn-Waterhouse. She was the second eldest, and became the second mother to Edward Louis Waterhouse, Jr., Carmelita Waterhouse, Annie Mae Waterhouse, and Edwina Waterhouse.
She was a native of New Orleans and attended George Washington Carver High School, where she sang in the choir, using her voice to bring joy and happiness to her community. Patricia worked collectively 20 years at Harrah's Casino and New Orleans Parish School Board as Food Technician for a plethora of schools, retiring from Thurgood Marshall Middle, and Harrah’s Casino, as a seamstress in the Wardrobe Department. Her initiation into the workforce was at Mae’s Diner, where she was the cook, waitress, and manager for over 20 years as well.
Patricia married Alfred Gardner and in that union four children were born, Asanta Ndukwe, Atravese Gardner, Daniel Smith, and Patrick Gardner. Patricia was a member of Morning Star Missionary Baptist Church, where she was baptized and sang in the choir. She later joined New Light Baptist Church, under the Leadership of Reverend Gregory Davis, who assigned her to the choir, where she praised and worshiped the Lord earnestly and fervently until she declined in health.
At the age of 73, Patricia passed away with peace and love in her heart. She joins her parents, Edward Louis Waterhouse, Sr., and Annie Mae Penn-Waterhouse, her siblings; Verna Waterhouse, and Carmelita Waterhouse. Patricia Ann “Tricia” Waterhouse-Gadner leaves to mourn, and cherish her memories are her husband; Alfred Gardner III, four children; Asanta Ndukwe, Altraves Gardner, Daniel Smith, Patrick Gardner, loving step-daughter; Kim Afford, step-son; Alfred Gardner IV, eight grandchildren, three great grandchildren, a host of family members, nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend the visitation for Patricia on Saturday, May 24, 2025 from 8:00 AM to 9:00 AM at New Light Baptist Church, 1435 Feliciana St in New Orleans. A funeral will begin at 8:45 AM and will be immediately followed by the committal service at Mount Olivet Cemetery, 4000 Norman Mayer Ave in New Orleans. Guests are invited to join the family for a repass at St. David's Gym, 1230 Lamanche St. in New Orleans from 12:00 PM - 4:00 PM.
