Paula Junot Hepting

Paula "Mammy" Junot Hepting passed away on February 3, 2026 at the age of 95. She was born in Caruthersville, Missouri to the late Virginia Tipton and Theodule Pierre Junot. She was the devoted wife of the late Edwin Albert Hepting, Jr. for over 71 years. Paula and Ed met in highschool where they were highschool sweethearts. They graduated from Gretna High School and married soon after. They had four children. Loving mother of Carolyn "Nan" Lippert (John), Pamela Boudreaux (Kenneth), Sheila Russom (the late Danny) and Kris Albert Hepting (Deborah). Proud grandmother of Kristen (the late Dennis), Eddie (Jaime), Kenny, Jr. (Tara), Michael (Kelli), Kelly, Britnie and Kristopher. Great-grandmother of Summer, Evangeline, Charlotte, Chance (Kelsey), Kenny, III, Preston, Tanner, Lauren, Timmy, Faryn, Gianna, Lamar and AJ and great-great-grandmother of Hazel, Theo, Leo and Marvel Mae. Sister of the late Coleman Curtis, Virginia Dunbar, June and Tony Junot. Paula is also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.

Paula was a resident of Harvey, Louisiana for the past 56 years in the home where they have created many memories. She was a member of Christ Baptist Church in Harvey until she was no longer able to attend. Over the years, she worked in the oilfield industry and retail. Above all, she proudly owned and operated a needlework shop called Mammy’s. She loved to knit and crochet and could often be found with yarn in her hands. When not knitting, one of her simple pleasures was eating ice-cream.

She was a deeply giving person who found her greatest happiness in taking care of others, especially her grandchildren. She never missed a chance to show love—whether it was through her time or her needlework. She will always be remembered for her kindness, like the goodie bags she thoughtfully packed for family and friends while they waited together at the hospital.

A memorial service will take place at a later date. Eventual internment at Hook and Ladder Cemetery in Gretna, Louisiana
