Richard "Cotterbin" Caldwin Perkins Sr.

Richard "Cotterbin" Caldwin Perkins Sr., age 77, of Lafitte, Louisiana passed away on Monday, May 20, 2024. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana to the late Benjamin "Benny" Perkins and Alvina Pizani Perkins. He was married to the love of his life, Carol Arabie Perkins, for over 58 years. Devoted father of Richard Perkins, Jr. (Dena). Proud Paw Paw Boat of Destiny Rae Perkins, Rikki Denise Perkins (Michael), Dreux Richard Perkins, his soon to come great grandson, and his fur grandson Beignet Brees Perkins. Loving uncle of Keith Arabie, Jr., Tonya Arabie Spera, and Godfather of Kevin Perrin. Brother of Leroy Perkins, Mark Perkins (Deanie), Ben Perkins (Sheila), the late Alvira Cardino (Paul), the late Norwood Perkins, the late Rene Perkins, the late Aimee Lormand (Kenny), the late Gary Perkins, and the late Linda Tranchant (Jackie). Brother In Law of Keith Arabie, Sr. (Janell), James Arabie (Evelyn), the late Catherine Haydel (Tut), the late Roberta Badeaux (Bill), and the late Joseph Arabie, Jr. (Carolotta). Cotterbin is survived by his good friends Jean Caulfield and the late Butch Caulfield. He is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will miss him dearly.

Special heartfelt thanks to brother Keith Arabie and sister Jean Caulfield for their endless love, tenderness and support of Cotterbin. As well as the staff at Heart of Hospice, especially Melinda Briscoe Harlow, for her wonderful care and adoration of Richard.
