Rodney Paul Schouest

Rodney Paul Schouest, a resident of Lafitte, Louisiana, was born on October 19, 1965, and passed away on November 21, 2025, at the age of 60. He was married to Darleen Rojas Schouest for 33 loving years. Devoted Father of Shealyn Lori Darda (Kyle) and Rodney Paul Schouest, Jr. (Emily). Proud Paw Paw of Kollin Darda, Kamden Darda, Kyle Darda, and Eliza Schouest. He was the son of Herbert "Sugie" Schouest and Carolyn Boudoin Schouest. Brother of the late Herbert Schouest Jr. (Patricia), John Schouest, Robert Schouest (Karen), Mickey Schouest (Victoria) and Consuelo “Connie” Boudreaux (Craig). Son In Law of the late Kerry Rojas and Cathy Rojas. Brother in Law of Allison Pizani (C.J.), Kerry Rojas, Jr. (Edna), and Kylie Mamolo (Troy). Rodney is also survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who are left to cherish his memory.

Rodney was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed fishing and hunting. He loved his job working on the river as a tugboat captain for over 30 years. There he gained lots of life lessons and many close friends. When Rodney wasn't working, he also enjoyed camping and being outdoors. On Sundays you could find him during football games, hollering at the TV on his high horse. He also enjoyed spending quality time with his beloved grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 1:00PM on Wednesday, November 26th, 2025 in the chapel of Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. A visitation will begin at 9:00AM and continue until the Mass time. Rodney will be laid to rest at St. Pius X Mausoleum in Crown Point, Louisiana.
