Ronald Chris "Pee Wee" Fremen Sr, peacefully met his Lord and Savior Sunday morning July 20, 2025, at home with family. He had battled cancer for the last year. He is survived by his loving wife of 70 years Barbara Elliott Fremen, sons Wynn Fremen (Pam), Randy Fremen, Ronald C. Fremen Jr, (Teahnee), Billy Fremen, Jody Fremen, Brad Fremen (Jennifer) and daughter Kayla Fremen, 12 grandkids, several step-grandkids, 8 great grand kids (one on the way) and several step great grandkids. Ronald is also survived by his brother, Kerney Fremen as well as other extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father Edward (Bill) Fremen, his mother Gertrude Dufrene Fremen, son Keith Fremen and seven of his brothers.
Ronald was born in Lockport, Louisiana and lived in Gheens, Westwego and finally in Luling, Louisiana. He was a graduate of Westwego High School, a longtime employee of Avondale shipyards.
Ronald was an avid fan and longtime season ticket holder of his beloved LSU Tigers. He enjoyed watching their football and baseball teams win multiple National Championships. He actively enjoyed playing catch (baseball or football) with all his sons or playing designated quarterback for both teams in our sandlot games.
He loved his church, listening to swamp pop and Cajun music, dancing, and eating raw oysters, but most of all, he loved his family. His favorite times were family gatherings for seafood boils, BBQs and especially Christmas Eve. Ronald was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
The family would like to thank extended family and friends for their visits and old times reminiscing in these last few months. The family would also like to give a heartfelt thanks to the staff of Compassus Hospice services, especially Mrs. Peggy.
Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial visitation on Monday, July 28, 2025 beginning at 10:00 AM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 155 Holy Family Ln in Luling. Mass will begin at 11:00 AM and interment will immediately follow at St. Charles Cemetery in Luling.
