Sammie Lee Nickelson “Good Doing Sam” was a native of Canton, Mississippi passed away on Monday April 7, 2014 at the age of 79, he also served in the Korean War. He was the son of the late Ora Lee Braxton and Sammie Nickelson Sr. He is survived by his wife Veverly Nickelson, children; Ora, Eliza, Samyata, Keith, Kenneth Nickelson, Brandi, Eva Ventry, Raymond Lumar, Rose Lumar, Betty Lumar, and Gwen Ratcliff, preceded in death by parents, a sister Eliza Gross, four children, Kevin Nickelson, Sammie Lumar, Allen and Michael Ventry. Visitation will be held at Westside LEITZ-EAGAN, 5101 Westbank Expressway, Marrero, La Saturday April 12 at 9:00 a.m. services at 10:00 a.m. Interment will be at Restlawn Park and Mausoleum.
