

Susan “Kay” Kathryn Galliano Wilson, loving wife and mother, passed away March 2, 2020 in New Orleans, Louisiana at the age of 65. “Kay” was preceded in death by her mother and father, Gloria Bourgeois Galliano and Jerry Galliano. She is survived by her husband Kavanaugh Wilson, her son Michael Wilson (Sarah), her brother Thomas Galliano (Cindy), her sister Annie Gaiennie (Charles), and numerous loving cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. “Kay” was born on August 25, 1954 in Galliano, Louisiana to Jerry Galliano and Gloria Bourgeois Galliano. On June 8, 1974, she married Kavanaugh Gerard Wilson. They raised one son, Michael. In 1972, “Kay” served as the Oyster Queen of the State of Louisiana. She spent several years in the healthcare field providing dialysis services before transitioning into an Educator and local coordinator for the Kidney Smart Program. In 2019, DaVita Kidney Care established the “Mrs. Kay Legacy Award” in her honor and named her as the inaugural winner.
“Kay” was a loving person who above all cared deeply for her family. She loved hosting gatherings, cooking, and watching “The Young and the Restless” and her favorite reality TV shows. She was known for her happiness, her kindness and her warm personality. She had an undeniable ability for making a lasting impression on everyone she met.
