Mr. Hinson was born on January 17, 1936, in Big Springs, Texas, to the late Curtis Hinson and Merle Sanders. He faithfully served his country in the United States Army and later dedicated over 35 years of service to Chevron, where he was respected for his unwavering work ethic and commitment.
He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Wanda Hinson; his sons, Charles Hinson and Vernon Hinson Jr.; and his brothers, James Hinson and Bernon “Nick” Hinson, his twin.
Mr. Hinson is survived by his son, Curtis Hinson and his wife Renee; his daughter-in-law, Regina Hinson; and five grandchildren: Crista Hinson (Hector), Addison Hinson, Chelby Hope (Kelsey), Zachary Hinson (Claire), and Cody Hinson (Cassie). He is also survived by his sister, Pat.
He was the proud great-grandfather of five: Greyson, Owen, and Levi, sons of Chelby and Kelsey Hope; and Charlotte and Carlie, daughters of Cody and Cassie Hinson.
In accordance with his wishes, no services will be held. He will be cremated.
