William "Bill" Wynn Nichols III went to Heaven to meet the Lord on Wednesday, February 16th, 2022 at the age of 72. He was a resident of Covington, Louisiana and was born in Radford, Virginia to the late William Wynn Nichols, Jr., Dorothy Eaton Nichols, and Virginia Elizabeth Hummel. Loving husband of Lou Ann Grammar Nichols for 36 years. Devoted father of Branden Wynn Nichols (Anri) and Marissa Nichols Ussery (Brian Springmann). Devoted Paw Paw of Wynn S. Nichols, Dawson C. Ussery, and Maddie A. Ussery. Brother of Deborah Burlew-Maurer (Tom), Mark A. Nichols (Judy), Dianne A. Green (Ward), Frank Burlew (Debbie), and Robert Burlew (Kay). Bill is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends who will miss him dearly.
Bill was an avid Saints fan and loved his "Black & Gold" team. He loved Mardi Gras and was a long time member of the Krewe of Endymion.
Bill lived his life to the fullest and had fun at whatever he did. His family will be hosting a Celebration of his Life on Monday, March 7th, 2022, his 73rd birthday. Family and friends are invited to attend the celebration from 11:00AM to 4:00PM at Westside/Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 5101 Westbank Expressway in Marrero, Louisiana. All attending will be invited to share their favorite "Bill" story beginning at 2:00PM. Bill wanted everyone to either wear his favorite color, BLUE, your favorite Mardi Gras attire, or your favorite Saints gear to celebrate HIS day.
The family would also like to thank the staff of St. Tammany Parish Hospital, who took such great care of Bill in his final days. Our family will be forever grateful.
In lieu of flowers, the family is asking to donate in Bill's name to two causes that were very near and dear to Bill's heart; the Spina Bifida Association or the American Heart Association.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.WestsideLeitzEagan.com for the Nichols family.
