She was born July 7, 1948 to Phillip Danziger and Frankie Rubenstein Levy in Augusta. Ann-Toni graduated the Academy of Richmond County and later attended Augusta College. While at Augusta College, she married her husband, the late William Aaron “Bill” Estroff, also of Augusta.
An artist at heart, Ann-Toni started her career at the Georgia Dance Theater and later owned Some Place Else, a clothing boutique in the Partridge Inn. But she is perhaps best known for PoppySeeds, her restaurant and catering company. She enjoyed expressing herself through her work, and her cooking was enjoyed by so many. In the course of her successful catering business, Ann-Toni had the pleasure of entertaining Fortune 500 executives, several heads of state, celebrities, and accomplished professional golfers. But her favorite parts of the business were the exquisite events and parties for the people of Augusta. Ann-Toni will always be remembered for her very active role in the Augusta Jewish community, including leadership roles in the Adas Yeshurun Synagogue Sisterhood, as president of Hadassah, and membership in the Augusta Jewish Community Center. She will also be remembered and loved by the Augusta community at large.
Ann-Toni is preceded in death by her husband, Bill, her parents Phillip and Frankie, and her brother and sister-in law, Mr. and Mrs. Jerome Prager Shoob. She is survived by her sons, Mr. Howard David “Dov” Estroff and Mr. James Thomas Covar, of Augusta; Mr. and Mrs. Jeremy Blair Estroff, of Atlanta; Dr. Jordan Mitchell Estroff and Mr. Jeremy John Brandon, of Dallas, TX. “Honey Gram” is also survived by her two granddaughters, Misses Emma Farren and Blake Arin Estroff, of Atlanta, and her dog, Pippy LePooch.
The family will receive friends (Shiva) at the residence on Thursday, Saturday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday, evening from 7-9pm. Additional hours are Friday, Sunday, Monday, and Tuesday during the day from 10 – 3.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Adas Yeshurun Synagogue, 955 Johns Road, Augusta, GA or Chabad of Augusta, 850 Broad St, Augusta, GA, 30901, or the Augusta Jewish Community Center, 898 Weinberger Way, Evans, GA, 30809.
