Audrey met her children’s father while serving our country in the US Navy. After her time in the Navy, she went on to marry and raise three beloved children: Bonnie Whitehead (Augusta, GA), Bill (William) Lange (Prescott Valley, AZ) and Beverly Greve and husband, Ted (Sherrills Ford, NC). Augusta was her home where she lived, loved, and flourished from 1952 until she moved to live nearer to one of her daughters in 2017. Prior to her move, she was married to her late husband, Jack Croft (Augusta, GA).
Audrey was born in Glenside, PA to Paul and Emma Stuhltrager and was one of six children: Mary Green (deceased), Phyllis Harvey (deceased), Paul Stuhltrager (deceased), Bernice Hawthorne (surviving) and Donald Stuhltrager (surviving). She loved her siblings.
Ms. Croft is also survived by her eight grandchildren which she adored: Granddaughters, Audrey Forbes and Ashley Nolan, and Grandsons, Trip (William) Lange, Ryan Greve, Wayne Whitehead, Wesley Whitehead, Carson Greve and Forrest Greve. In addition to her grandchildren, she is survived by many great-grandchildren.
In addition to loving her family, she enjoyed walks, time spent with people and serving others. She served as the President of the Georgia BPOE Elks Auxiliary and later worked tirelessly at the Shepard Blood Center where she focused on getting people to recognize the importance of helping others through the life-giving donation of blood.
Throughout her life, Audrey touched many people with her friendly demeanor. It was a common refrain by those same people that Audrey was such a delight that they so much enjoyed being around.
Audrey, Mother, Wife, Sister, Daughter and Friend, we will miss you dearly.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. The family will receive friends beginning at 11 until the time of service at the funeral home. Interment will follow the service at Westover Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Hill Baptist Church on Kings Way, Augusta, GA.
