Daphne A Swinford

Mrs. Daphne Ann Lamon Swinford was born March 10, 1955 to John Lamon and Joan Hayes in Heidelberg, Germany. She was the first of three children to them. Raised Roman Catholic, she was devout in her faith. She was a Christian, Wife, Mother, and Friend to all.

A graduate of Watertown High School in 1973. She furthered her education at Jefferson Community College. Her professional career brought her to Augusta, Georgia where she met her husband Stanley Swinford Sr. They had two sons together, Stan Jr and Andrew. Daphne enjoyed summers in Upstate New York, spending time with family and friends that became family, watching movies, and getting out in nature with a simple walk.

On September 1, 2025, at Lake Crossing Health Center in Appling, Georgia, Daphne transitioned to her heavenly home. The legacy of her life is left with her husband Stanley Swinford Sr. of Leesburg, Florida; sons, Stanley Swinford Jr. of Grovetown, Georgia, and Andrew (Gabriella Lamb) Swinford of Decatur, Georgia; brothers Marty (Marta) Lamon of Watertown, New York, and John “Bomber” (Laura) Lamon of Alexandria Bay, New York; sister-in-law Penny (Roger) Percival of Tavares, Florida; godson, Jonathan (Ragen) Hubbard of Macon, Georgia; family friend Luis Herrera of Grovetown, Georgia; seven nieces and nephews, and countless friends.

There will be a celebration of life at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, Georgia 30907 on Sunday September 7, 2025. The viewing will be held from 1-3pm and there will be a service from 3-4pm. In lieu of flowers, a donation can be made in her honor to the Alzheimer’s Association or Colon Cancer Foundation.
