Freda Pauline Powell

Ms. Powell was born to late Starling E. Powell and Emmie Powell Mills. She enjoyed life and was always cheerful and optimistic. Freda loved her family and always looked forward to spending time with them. Ms. Powell was a member of Central Christian Church which she loved dearly. She enjoyed making crafts including mosaic tile art, potholders and refinishing furniture. Her family and friends will always remember her big brown eyes, winning smile, and spunky attitude.

She is survived by her two brothers Carl (Doris) Powell and Bobby (Hilda) Powell; one sister Pamela (Wesley) Chance; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by three brothers Starling Powell, Neal Mills, Earl Mills, Jr. and her step-father Earl Mills, Sr.

Funeral Services will be held at 11 am Friday, June 10, 2011 at Central Christian Church with Rev. Dr. Emmitt Tip Carroll officiating. Honorary Pallbearers will be members of the Central Christian Church. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park.

The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 pm Thursday, June 9, 2011 at the funeral home.
