Mr. Jerry L. Harriott Sr.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, March 31, 2014 at 3pm in the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Bob Rollins officiating. Interment will follow in Shepherd’s Church Cemetery, Appling, GA. Pallbearers will be Nick Poston, Nick Huey, Mike Johnson, Bobby Bradford, Russell Lloyd, Bart Hall, and honorary pallbearers will be Kenneth Harriott, Jerry Harriott, Chuck Best, and Jim Best.

Jerry was born in Wilmington, NC to John and Shelby Trusler Harriott, Sr. He graduated from New Hanover High School in Wilmington, NC. He was a park caretaker for 23 years with the IBEW Local 1579. He loved to ride his motorcycle, play pool, poker, fish, and hunt. He enjoyed spending time with his family, but his most precious time was spent with his grandson, Bentley.

He was preceded in death by his father in law, Ed Erkens. In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife of 30 years Lora Stephens Harriott, sons, Jerry “Little Jerry” Harriott, Jr. and his wife Ashley, Evans, GA, Kenneth Harriott, Appling, GA, brothers, John (Telia) Harriott, Jr., Bobby (Suzanne) Harriott, sister, Shirley (Daniel) Caison, all of North Carolina, grandson, Bentley “Man” Harriott, mother in law, Alice Erkens, sister in law, Linda Woody, brother in law, Buddy Stephens, niece, Kayla “KK” Woody, nephew, Brock Woody, several nieces and nephews from North Carolina.

The family will receive friends on Sunday, March 30, 2014 from 6-8 pm at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Shepherd’s Church, 6544 Cobbham Rd, Appling, GA 30802.
