

Joseph Gerald (Jerry) Redhage passed away peacefully at home on May 25, 2025. He was born on March 12, 1945, in Miami, Florida, to Robert Joseph (Bob) Redhage and Mildred Lee (Nonie) Mester Redhage. Jerry spent his childhood on the Redhage Family Farm in Lonedell, Missouri, and graduated as valedictorian from St. Clair High School.
A gifted student and musician, Jerry played trombone in both his high school and college marching bands. He attended the University of Missouri, where he earned a degree in chemistry, was a member of a Greek fraternity, and was inducted into Phi Beta Kappa.
While attending graduate school, Jerry was drafted into the U.S. Army and served at Fort Eisenhower (formerly Fort Gordon) in the crime lab, where he testified in United States court martial trials. After his service, he worked in the lab at DuPont / Savannah River Plant before earning his MBA from the University of Michigan in Ann Arbor.
Jerry spent five years in Product Planning and Development at Ford Motor Company in Dearborn, Michigan, before continuing his career in marketing and sales. He became a business owner in Lincoln, NE, and later retired from Firestone Retail.
A longtime member of Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia, Jerry was a professing Christian who loved music, sang in the church choir, and actively participated in his men’s Bible study. He believed that Jesus is his Lord and Savior, and his family finds peace knowing he is now reunited with his Heavenly Father and loved ones in heaven.
In his later years, he reignited his passion for hunting and spent a lot of time at his local hunt club and in nature. Always a green thumb, Jerry loved his gardens wherever he lived and was very proud of what he could grow.
He was preceded in death by his parents and grandparents, Harry and Marguerite Lewis Mester and August and Ivy Murrell Redhage.
Jerry is survived by his three sons: Jeffrey (Julie) Redhage of Olathe, Kansas; Christopher (Lexi) Redhage of Nashville, Tennessee; and Shawn (Gretchen) Redhage of Perth, Australia. He was formerly married to Elizabeth Redhage for over 50 years, and together they raised their sons with love and support. He was a proud grandfather to Kendall, Khloe, Hayley, Dylan, and Weston Redhage. He is also survived by his uncle, Jim (Sandra) Redhage; cousins Pat Lane, Mike Lane, and many others.
A devoted father, Jerry coached his sons in youth sports and loved watching them grow and succeed at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels. He was deeply proud of the men they became and the families they’ve built.
A funeral service will be held at Warren Baptist Church in Augusta, Georgia, on Friday, June 6th at 11:00 a.m. with visitation prior to the funeral at 10:00 am.
