Joanne Henry

Jo Ann Spinks Henry, a beloved mother and passionate animal lover, passed away at home on September 10, 2025, surrounded by her family and beloved pets. She was born in Augusta, Georgia on September 28, 1949.

Jo Ann’s home was always filled with the pitter-patter of paws, she rescued countless

animals over the years, from dogs and cats to pigs and turtles. She left behind four of her babies Teensy, Stewart, Kizzy & Tui.

Jo Ann was preceded in death by her parents Clydia (Mer) Spinks and David Woodrow

Spinks and a brother Mack Davis. She is survived by her brother Stewart Spinks (Martha), Sister-In-Law Lorene Davis, 3 children Jeanne Harden Martin

(Lawrence Jr.), Amy Harden Sowinski (Craig), and William Harden (Keturah), 10

grandchildren Jessica Turner, Robert English (Chasity), Marcus Harden, Joseph Harden, Taylor Testi (Josh), Madison Sowinski, Layton Sowinski, Alexus Accord, Katie Accord and Buck Accord, 12 great grandchildren Brianna Harden, Brandon Burgess, Johnathan Brantley, Brantley English, Mackenzie English, Kingsley Harden, Nevaeh Platt, Anastasia Harden, Lailyanna Harden, Olivia Testi, Jadavion Harden, and Lyric Harden and and one Great Great Grandchild Leah.

A small, intimate gathering to celebrate Jo Ann's life will be held on September 28 at her

daughter Amy’s home. Friends and family welcome
