Memorial services will be held on Monday, August 5, 2013 at 10am in the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home. Interment will be held at 3pm on Monday, August 5, 2013 Fort Jackson Cemetery, Columbia, SC.
Born in Beekmantown, NY, he was the son of the late Henry and Florence Jean River Sears. He retired from the US Army Signal Corps as a 1st Sergeant. He was a member of the Webb Lodge #166. He enjoyed playing golf, fishing and reading.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Purcell – Sears, children, Pam (Bobby) Sears – Holley, Harlem, GA, John (Julie) Sears, Evans, GA, Dean (Shelley) Sears, Carrolton, VA, brother, Tom (Mary) Sears, sisters, Chick Renadette, Nina (Walt) Coryea, Amy Catellier, and 9 grandchildren.
The family will receive friends after the service at the funeral home.
