To Kusumben Mistry and Family,

We were so shocked and very sad hearing the news of suddenly passing away of Kantibhai. We just saw you and Kantibhai few days before his passing away. He was in very good spirits and cracking jokes as usual. We promised to have friends get together soon. Did not expect his sudden exit. We enjoyed the friendship, and we will cherish the memories of celebrating so many family events and milestones together in Augusta. 

Please accept our deepest Condolences, may God rest his Soul in Peace and give you the strength and courage to bear the untimely loss of Kantibhai. We will definitely miss him, but we will always remember him. You and family are in our prayers. Please let us know if we can be of any help.

Kanti's death came as a complete shock.  
In 1959 in school, his desk was in the front of mine and Ansar.  He was very clever, but modest at the same time.
We knew each other from our school days, and last time I met him was at the reunion in Harrow a couple of years ago. We had a good old  chat about schooldays. I reminded him that he was very good at 'Lungdi Goli' at Mtendeni and he burst out laughing.

I thought he was in Leicester, but must have gone to USA for better opportunities. 

It's always a shock to lose someone from our past, and my thoughts are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. May God rest his soul in peace."

Kanti and I spent our childhoods at Mtendeni Indian Primary School and Government  Indian Secondary School. In 1960 he went with Harish Chudasama  to Mission School in Iringa. I was also offered that scholarship. We lost touch because my parents would not let me go to Iringa. When he came to live in Atlanta he called me. That was very sweet of him. Our memories are eternal. Having lost my brother last month, I know how his survivors feel. My heart goes out to them as they prepare to live the rest of their lives without Kanti.

I and others were with Kanti at Mtendeni and Azania schools in Dar es Salaam Tanzania from 1953 to 1960. We lost touch with him in 1961 when he went to a Christian Mission's top rated boarding school in Iringa also in Tanzania. We got re-connected about a decade ago when he was visiting London and we were holding a mini reunion in Wembley Middlesex. Since then, we kept in touch mostly by e-mail and an occasional phone calls. I supplied a lot of information when he wanted to visit Dar es Salaam during May of 2024. The photo is of our class VII A of 1959 at Azania (Government Indian) Secondary School ("Azania"). Kanti is no. 5 (L-R) and Daulat K. Mistry (France) is in at no. 6 in the front row in the photo. Ansar (Minneapolis) is no. 3 (L-R) in the same row. Kishore Dhanji Visram Thakrar (Leicester) is no. 1, Ravinder Singh A (Dark sleeveless top) (Croydon) is in at no. 3 in the middle row. I (Mill Hill, London) am no.  8 (L-R). Khandu Msitry is no. 11, Yogesh Patel is in at no. 13,  Sudhir Ambasana is no. 14 in the same row. Amirali Haidri (Springfield, New Jersey) is no.  3 (L-R) in the back row, Harish L. Chudasama (Wembley Middlesex UK), his companion at Iringa, is no. 3, Dinesh Morjaria (Ealing, London) is no.  7 in the same row.  In the photo, as at 27th March 2025 there are 10 individuals including Kanti D. Mistry who are known to have passed.

I am saddened to hear of Kanti's passing. My heartfelt condolences to his family. Kanti and I were schoolmates at Mtendeni Primary School and Azania Secondary School Dar-es-Salaam from 1953 to 1963. I remember him as a slim, quiet person, though we lost touch after secondary school. May his soul rest in peace. Amen.

To Kanti Mistry Family
Kanti was with me at school both Mtendeni & Azania in DAR.
Think it was around 1960 when he and Harish Chudasama got Bursaries at Mission School in Iringa and we met at Itigi junction where our trains crossed. I was returning with Dinesh Morjaria from Tabora and we had brief chat with Kanti and Harish. That was the last I saw of him.
Regret to lose many of my classmates as we approach 80.

When Kantikaka and kaki came to Canada, we visited Burlington, and I managed to get kaka do some work, as normally he would find some excuse to not do any work. This was one time we got the joke back to him. Kaki and myself made him hold our purses for a little.

Good memory in Canada with our favorite Kaka.

As I mentioned Kaka used to joke about so much and in this photo u can see him holding my wife's and Kaki's purse as a joke , But the ladies took advantage and got kaka to do more work for them and he said "aa tau undhu thai gayu, mane cookie Bana Di tho".... Love you kaka will miss u
