Mrs. Martha May, 70, wife of Jerome “Jay” May entered into rest Tuesday, October 16, 2012.

Martha was born in Augusta and was a resident of Appling for many years. She was a daughter to the late D. S. “Spike” and Miriam Anderson. She was a homemaker and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be dearly missed.

In addition to her loving husband, Martha is survived by her children, Ann (Rob) Cohen, Matt (Wendy) May and Bobby (Lisa) May; eleven grandchildren, Sarah Cohen, Jeremy Cohen, Katie Cohen, Allison Cohen, Michael Cohen, Caleb May, Emily May, Robbie May, Dalton May, Alex May and Alyssa May; three sisters, Alice Schieberl, Ivey Funderburg and Billie Mae Richey; two brothers, Dan Anderson and Otey Anderson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her siblings, Bo Anderson, Kitty Fletcher, Marion Anderson and J. W. Anderson.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 6 – 8 PM at the funeral home.

Funeral services will be held 2 PM, Friday, October 19, 2012 in the Columbia Road Chapel of Elliott Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Bryan Cockrell officiating. Interment will follow at Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Caleb May, Jeremy Cohen, Ricky Schieberl, Frank Wilson, Butch Powell and Tommy May. Honorary Pallbearers will be Dr. John Boutwell, Don Mast, Buddy Price, her grandsons and her nephews.
