Ruth Eleanor Parham, 81 of Evans, GA entered into the presence of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on March 10, 2025. She was at home surrounded by her family. “Memaw” was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She graduated from Richmond Academy and the Medical College of Georgia.
Mrs. Parham was a nurse at Gracewood State School and Hospital where she retired after 35 years of dedicated service with her co-workers, they became extended family. After retirement she was blessed to travel all over the world with her husband and friends. Eleanor was very active in her church, serving in all areas including Meals on Wheels, the Food Pantry to support local schools, Vacation Bible School, Youth Groups and running fundraisers to help provide anything needed. She was affectionately known as the “Yard Sale Queen.” She loved to cut up with her grandchildren and was a good sport when they gave it back to her.
Mrs. Parham was preceded in death by her husband Robert (Bobby) Parham and sister Pat Pope. She is survived by her daughters Missy Hatcher (Timmy) and Susan Story (John). She is also survived by grandchildren Ian (Emily), Daphne (Dylan), Logan and Samantha; great-grandchildren Harper, Chase, and Luke.
The family would like to thank the special caregivers for all their love and kindness. These include Mrs. Vi, Ms. Cathy, and Ms. Jenny. We would also like to recognize and thank Ansleigh, Claudine, Megan, Deborah, Mia and Madison of Regency Southern Care Hospice. The care they all rendered was excellent.
A funeral service will be held for Mrs. Parham on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home 4255 Columbia Road, Martinez, GA 30906, at 2pm. Family will receive friends one hour prior to funeral service. Interment will follow at Hillcrest Memorial Park, 2700 Deans Bridge Road, Augusta, GA 30906.
