Victoria H. Andrews

Evans GA—Victoria Helen Lawler Andrews, 77, beloved wife of William George Andrews, Jr., entered into rest on Saturday, March 9, 2013, at NHC of North Augusta.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 AM on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at St. Teresa of Avila Catholic Church with Rev. Michael Roverse, Celebrant. Interment will follow in Westover Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Eddie Reilly, Greg Shaffer, Chip Williams, Bill Ryan, Kameron Stampley and Eddie Barfield. Honorary pallbearers will be her grandchildren.

Mrs. Andrews was a native of Brooklyn, NY, and was the daughter of the late Joseph and Victoria Lawler. She was a retired schoolteacher having taught at Weed TMR, Bungalow Road Elementary, Harlem Middle and Lakeside Middle Schools.

In addition to her husband, survivors include sons and daughters-in-law Joseph William (Diane) Andrews, Jeffrey William (Tonya) Andrews; daughters and sons-in-law Elizabeth Ann (Troy) Barfield, Kathleen Andrews Paschall, Shannon Andrews (Greg) Shaffer; a brother and sister -in-law James P. (Diane) Lawler, numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a great-great grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Cayden Shaffer, and son-in-law, Ronald Paschall.

As a military wife, Mrs. Andrews traveled extensively. She was passionate about teaching children and loved writing stories for them. She was heavily involved in community services and was a co-founder of Birthright in the Washington, D.C. area.

The family would like to thank the caregivers of the Jasmine Wing, NHC of North Augusta, and sitters Olivia, Nicole, Brannon, Janice and Sheila.

A vigil service will be held at 6 PM on Tuesday evening, March 12, 2013, at Elliott Sons Funeral Home Chapel, Columbia Road, Martinez, GA. The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
