

A native of New Haven, Ct., he resided in the Augusta area since being retired from the U.S. Army at Ft. Gordon in 1975, after 21 years of active duty, with tours in Berlin, Germany, Korea, Turkey, University of Tennessee and the Vietnam War. He was awarded The Bronze Star Medal; Meritorious Service and Achievement Medals; Commendation Medal with 3 oak leaf clusters; European Occupation medal; National Defense Service Medal; Korean Service, Defense, United Nations Medals; Vietnam Service Medal; Cross of Gallantry with Palm; the Vietnam Honor Medal and Campaign Medals.
Mr. Larson was an avid golfer and member of the American Bowling Congress and a Protestant.
He is survived by his loving wife of 58 years, Erika (Peg) Larson; one daughter, Sharon (Jim) Ferguson of Naperville, IL; one son, Robert (Kelly) Larson of Augusta, GA; one sister, Dorothy (Art) Civitelli of Cheshire, Ct.; three grandsons, Ryan, Eric, Colin, one granddaughter, Ashley, four great-grandchildren, all of Illinois.
The family will receive friends at 1 pm, Saturday, December 28, 2013 at Elliott Sons Funeral Home, Columbia Rd. Followed by a service in the Chapel at 2 pm with Rev. Paul Cook officiating. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Gardens, Grovetown, GA, with full Military Honors following the service.
