
Àkanní Wesley Stone Gooden, passed away on April 1, 2026. He was born on February 8, 2026, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, to his parents, Taylor Rideout and Akeem Gooden. From the moment he entered the world, he was cherished beyond words and brought light into the lives of his family.
Àkanní is survived by his loving parents; his grandmothers: Claudia Gedeon and Latoya Rideout-Mills; grandfathers, Rochenet Gedeon and Verrol Gooden; great-grandmothers: Monica Williams, and Zelda Rideout; great-grandfather, Todd Rideout; uncles: Iandew Frances, Andrian Brown, and Xavier Horton; aunt, Sydney Rideout; and cousins, Catalena Frances, Malakai Horton, and Tracey Elvy; great-aunts: Vivienne Robinson, Sumitria and Juakita Rideout; Akeem’s godmother, Princess Gillespie; along with several other beloved family members and friends.
He was preceded in death by his grandfathers, James Jefferson and James Mills.
A funeral Service will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home on Thursday, April 9, 2026, at 11:00am. Interment will follow services at Rosedale Cemetery.
Though Àkanní journey was short, his life was a precious gift that will forever be remembered and cherished. He will remain in the hearts of his family as a symbol of pure love, innocence, and hope.
