Ann Brunk

Elsie Ann Brunk (lovingly known as Ann or “Nannie Ann”) passed away at Suburban Hospital in Bethesda, MD on Sunday, March 24, 2024 at the age of 92. She was born in Martinsburg, WV on May 7, 1931, though she spent most of her life in Wheaton, MD after the family moved there in 1964.

She worked in a shoe store when she was young, and then at the C&P telephone company. Ann also was a homemaker and would spend hours growing and beautifying her garden. She was a lifelong Christian and an avid member of Hughes United Methodist Church. She had a love of music and sang in several church choirs. She especially enjoyed volunteering in the church kitchen and attending circle meetings with her friends. Ann also had a passion for animal welfare and supported multiple animal societies and causes. There was always a cat in the Brunk household.

She was pre-deceased by her parents, Henry S. and Clara V. Roberts; her husband, John H. Brunk; her sister, Clara Mae Roberts; and her brother, H. Bruce Roberts, all of Martinsburg.

Ann is survived by her son, Michael; her son, Wayne and his wife Sandra; her granddaughter, Lauren Brunk Cadiz and her husband Eric Cadiz; granddaughter, Amanda Stafford and her husband Matthew Stafford; and her great-grandchildren: Louella Cadiz and Chloe Stafford.

The funeral will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home and Cemetery, 917 Cemetery Road, Martinsburg, WV, 25404, on Wednesday, April 3, 2024. There will be a viewing from 10:30 am until the time of the funeral service at noon. A light lunch will be held afterwards with all guests invited to attend.
