

Born May 9, 1953, in Hazard, Kentucky, he was the son of Floyd Combs Sr and America McDaniel Combs.
Aster was of the Pentecostal faith.
He started running heavy equipment at the young age of twelve and throughout the following sixty years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and karaoke, was once a spit-fire horseshoe player, a loyal member of the Charles Town Moose and a proud supporter of the Baltimore Ravens.
Aster is survived by two sons: James Combs (Samantha) and Christopher Combs both of Shenandoah Junction and one daughter Alicia Secatello (Todd) of Kearneysville; his significant other Lynda Johnson of Charles Town; three brothers: Frank Combs of Harpers Ferry, Joseph Combs (Angie) of Michigan, and William Combs (Denise) of Charles Town; three sisters: Verna Turner (Wayne), Freda Aronowitz (Barry) and Shirley Weller (Dave) all of Harpers Ferry; seven grandchildren: Deven and Mikhayla Combs, Donnie Hawkins III, Devin Forman, Tabitha Forman-Combs, Emily and Katelynn Combs; six great grandchildren: Adalee and Leeyah Wise, Journee and Harmonee Cornell, Messiah Combs and Trace Hawkins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife of thirty-six years Deborah (Penwell) Combs; his significant other Janette Mackey; three brothers: Floyd Combs Jr, Howard Combs, and Alex Combs; two sisters: Donna Moore and Dora Griffith.
Family and friends will be received at Rosedale Funeral Home on Wednesday, December 3, 2025, and Thursday, December 4, 2025, from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 5, 2025, at 11:00 am at the funeral home with Rev. Samuel Snow officiating. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Combs, Christopher Combs, Deven Combs, Donnie Hawkins III, Jason Price, and Steve Wines.
