
Billy was born April 5, 1925 in Berkeley Springs to the late William and Jeanette Lopp. Wilma was also born in Berkeley Springs on August 9, 1926 to the late Charles and Fredda Michael.
Billy and Wilma were married on April 21, 1946. They were married for 71 years, and did everything together.
The two were faithful members of Otterbein Church. Billy was a WWII veteran of the US Navy. He sold insurance for many years, and then sold Real Estate. He was co-owner of Frye-Lopp Realty. Billy was the first secretary of Opequon Public Service District, he also started the girls’ softball League and has a field named after him. Billy was a member of Robert White Masonic Lodge-Scottish Rites and Paul Harris Fellow in Martinsburg Rotary. He delivered Meals on Wheels up until October 2017.
Wilma worked as a secretary for the Soil Conservation Service where she was the first woman in WV to be made an honorary Soil Conservation District Supervisor. She was a member of the DAR-Shenandoah Valley Chapter.
The couple will be sadly missed by daughter: Vicki Hayes and husband Donald; grandchildren Ethan (Tosha) Greenfield, Austin, Dathan, Devon, Erinn (Charles) Kittle, Camden, Kayla, Hailey, Adara, and Evan Greenfield, Glenn Michael, Linda and Debbie, Wilma’s very special niece Karen and husband Garnett Canby Jr. along with many nieces and nephews, step-grandchildren and their families, Kevin, Brian, and Chris Hayes.
In addition to her parents Wilma is preceded in death by one infant brother, Kennard; sisters: Portia Braithwaite and Bernice Wills.
In addition to Billy’s parents he is preceded in death by sisters: Ethelyn Mason and Betty Weber.
Friends will be received on Thursday from 6-8pm at Rosedale Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held on Friday at 11am at the funeral home. Interment will follow in Rosedale Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers please make memorial contributions in Billy and Wilma’s name to Meals on Wheels, The Rescue Mission of Martinsburg, or Hospice of the Panhandle.
