

She was born on January 26, 1947, in Martinsburg, West Virginia, to parents Lewis Burr Porterfield Jr. and Virginia Lee (Wolf) Porterfield, and was one of four children: Ronnie, Jimmy, and Sally Porterfield. Brenda attended Martinsburg High School and graduated with the Class of 1964. She later attended nursing school in Washington County, graduating in 1967, and went on to earn her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from West Virginia University in 1984. She was a devoted employee of the Martinsburg VA Medical Center for 30 years.
In the spring of 1966, she met her loving husband, Michael Mullin, and they were married on June 6, 1967, and shared more than 58 years of a blissful and devoted marriage. Together they raised two perfect sons, Sean Mullin, with Dorene Perez, and Brendan Mullin, married to Christy Mullin (Lyons), and were blessed with one perfect granddaughter, McKenna Mullin.
Brenda was an extremely determined, caring, and generous woman. She had an unfailing passion for horses and also enjoyed long walks, baking cookies, and eating chocolate and black licorice. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by everyone who knew her.
A memorial service will be held at Rosedale Funeral Home in Martinsburg West Virginia on Thursday, February 19th at one o’clock. In lieu of flowers please donate in honor of Brenda to:
