Charles Steven Johnson

Charles Steven (Steve) Johnson, age 68, passed away Sunday November 23, 2025, at Willow Tree Healthcare Center in Charlestown WV. The Memorial service talk will be held at 2:00 pm on Saturday December 6, 2025, at Spring Mills High School Auditorium, in Martinsburg WV. The memorial service will be followed by a meal at the Spring Mills High School cafeteria. Those not able to attend in person can attend via Zoom. Steve was proceeded in death by his father John H. Johnson and mother Mary R. Johnson of Martinsburg, WV, sisters Sarah Catherine Johnson, Martha E. Johnson, Vivian P. Johnson, and Janie L. Johnson all of Martinsburg WV. He is survived by his sister Marion R Taylor and husband Raymond Taylor, of Martinsburg WV and brothers George H. Johnson of Martinsburg WV and William G. Johnson of Hampton, VA and his devoted wife of 33 years, Candice R Johnson of Martinsburg WV, along with numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. He was employed as the Berkeley County Printing Foreman for Berkeley County Schools for over 40 years, receiving the Service Personnel Award along the way.

Steve grew up here in Martinsburg, loved laughing and spending time with his family along with family friends.

He dedicated his life in service to Jehovah on Oct. 25, 1980. He served as an elder for 36 years in the local congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses. He enjoyed sharing the bible’s message and hope with families, young adults, and with all he met. He reassured all who he spoke with of his hope of a resurrection to a paradise earth until his final week of life.
